If you have anything you want to look up on Wikipedia, you’d better do it today, or you’re going to have to wait a full 24 hours to get your answer. Why? Well, Wikipedia will be leading a number of high-profile websites going dark on Wednesday to protest two controversial bills in Congress. SOPA, also known as the Stop Online Piracy Act in the House of Representatives, and PIPA, the Protect I-P Act in the Senate, are designed to crack down on the illegal sharing of movies and music on the Web. However, critics say the anti-piracy legislation is censorship and would force sites to police the online world.

On Twitter, Jimmy Wales, co-founder of Wikipedia, confirmed that all of Wikipedia’s 3.8 million English-language articles will be unavailable from midnight Eastern time tonight until midnight Wednesday. Anyone who visits the site will be redirected to a banner that reads “The Internet must remain free.” Also joining Wikipedia in going black are Reddit, Minecraft, Craigslist, and Boing Boing, among others. Craigslist has posted a message at the top of its city homepages with a link to “help put a stop to this madness” of SOPA and PIPA.

The Obama administration, as well as Congress, seem to be listening to the critics. In a blog post, the White House said it would not support “legislation that reduces freedom of expression … or undermines the dynamic, innovative global Internet.” And House Majority Leader Eric Cantor said a vote would not come up for SOPA until a consensus is reached. By the way, if you’re a fan of any of the sites that are planning to participate in the blackout, don’t worry: You can still tweet about it as much as you want. Twitter will still be up and running. In fact, CEO Dick Costolo tweeted this about the sites choosing to go dark: “Closing a global business in reaction to single-issue national politics is foolish.”

‘Clean up your website’: Indian court orders Facebook and Google to remove ‘anti-religious’ content

Social websites including Google and Facebook have been ordered by an Indian court to remove all ‘anti-religious’ and ‘anti-social’ content within six weeks.

On Saturday a Delhi Court ordered 22 social networking sites, including Yahoo and Microsoft, to wipe the objectionable and defamatory contents and file compliance reports by February 6, 2012.

The order will raise serious questions about how users’ posts and opinions will be edited, censorship and freedom of expression.

On December 22 Judge Kumar had issued summonses to the social networking sites, demanding they remove photographs, videos or texts that might offend religious sentiments, the Hindustan Times website reported.

The order comes a day after a criminal court issued summonses to the sites for facing trial for allegedly webcasting objectionable contents.

Santosh Pandey, appearing for complainant Mufti Aijaz Arshad Qasmi, told The Hindu Times after the court hearing that the websites have to submit a report to the court by February 6 describing the action they had taken to remove the contents from the websites.

Representatives of Yahoo India Pvt Ltd and Microsoft told the court that they had not got copies of the order and complaint against them, but Qasmi’s counsel told the court that he would supply the relevant documents to them, according to the Hindustan Times.

The order comes at a controversial time as IT minister Kapil Sibal had recently discussed with representatives of some of the companies ways to guarantee the offensive contents are not posted.

India Today quoted him as saying: ‘There were some demeaning, degrading, clearly pornographic depictions of gods and goddesses which no reasonable, sensible person anywhere in the world would accept, on any site.

The minister insisted he was not smothering free speech but was suggesting screening possible ‘incendiary’ material.

The Hindu Times reported Facebook India, Facebook, Google India Pvt Ltd, Google Orkut, Youtube, Blogspot, Microsoft India Pvt Ltd, Microsoft, Zombie Time, Exboii, Boardreader, IMC India, My Lot, Shyni Blog and Topix were all given the order.

A Google spokesperson told the website: ‘We comply with valid court orders wherever possible, consistent with our long standing policy.

‘We’re yet to receive the details of this order and can’t comment on this specific case.’

Additional Civil Judge Mukesh Kumar passed the order on a suit filed by Mufti Aijaz Arshad Qasmi seeking to restrain the websites from circulating objectionable and defamatory contents.

Matt’s videos on YouTube focus primarily on the Canadian counterjihad and the Canadian political scene. His original YouTube channel, sdamatt2, was invaded by hackers. All of the posts were deleted and Matt found it necessary to shut down that account. Matt also uploaded some videos to the SDAMatt0 channel, but this was temporary.

Several posts on 1389 Blog, as well as on Blazing Cat Fur, contain video embeds that link to the old sdamatt2 channel that no longer exists; thus, those embeds no longer work. It would be an arduous and expensive task for Matt to re-upload his entire video library to the new account. Until and unless he or someone else uploads the videos again, they will not be available online. We regret the inconvenience.

What is YouTube Smackdown?

The YouTube Smackdown project provides a coordinated method for reporting jihadi terrorist videos to Google/YouTube and requesting that they be taken down. These jihadi videos are used for, among other things, recruiting future jihadis and showing them how to commit acts of terrorism. You can join the project by following the instructions on the site.

Why did YouTube Smackdown move to a new URL?

The Smackdown site moved from Google Blogger to WordPress after Google deactivated the account of one of the project’s associates.

Be careful about Google Plus!

The admins of 1389 Blog suggest that, if you do any counterjihad blogging, if you comment on counterjihad forums or blogs, or if you prefer to use a nom de plume, nom de guerre, or nickname instead of your real name online, that you do NOT sign up for Google Plus. Google currently forbids the use of pseudonyms or nicknames on Google Plus. If Google finds anything objectionable about your Google Plus account, they may decide to disable not only your Google Plus account, but also your Gmail account, your Google Blogger account, your YouTube account, and whatever else you have registered with Google. When you try to get it reinstated, they may become very intrusive indeed.

In this instance, the suspect seems to have been motivated not by the jihad, but by anger at a New Zealand law regarding file sharing and intellectual property. That said, Judge Heather Simpson deserves applause for resisting pressure to give preferential treatment to a Muslim suspect.

Teen govt bomb threat accused named

A teenager who allegedly claimed explosives were hidden in government buildings has lost his bid for name suppression.

That’s despite his lawyer’s plea that publication could potentially mark the young Muslim as having links to international terrorism.

Ifraaz Joseph, 18, pleaded not guilty to one charge of threatening to harm people or property when he appeared in Manukau District Court this morning.

Defence lawyer Giles Harvey applied for interim suppression to be continued, arguing that his client’s Muslim background combined with what was being alleged could create a public backlash and put him and his family at risk.

There was the potential people could wrongly perceive links with international terrorism, he said.

Mr Harvey also argued that Joseph’s name was very similar to other male members of his family and publication could wrongly implicate them in the alleged crime.

Furthermore, “publication of his name might cause public stigma against the defendant regardless of whether he is acquitted or not”.

Judge Heather Simpson said she took into account Joseph’s young age: “he’s still at school and he should be protected, to some extent, from the foolishness of his own actions.”

However, she decided the seriousness of the charge, and the genuine public interest “in matters of this kind”, outweighed the potential harm publication could have on Joseph and his family.

She ordered that the defendant be referred to by his middle name, Ifraaz, to avoid possible confusion with other family members.

Mr Harvey also asked for a variation of Joseph’s bail conditions to allow him limited access to the internet to enable him to finish school assignments.

Judge Simpson postponed hearing this application until October 19 when further written material could be made available.

There will also be a case review hearing on November 22.

Joseph allegedly intended to cause significant disruption to the Government by suggesting there would be explosions in municipal buildings, court documents show.

The video, which was posted onto YouTube on September 6, also said Government and media websites would be hacked.

The threats were allegedly part of a protest against the new Copyright (Infringing File Sharing) Amendment Act that came into effect earlier this month, police said.

Acting Detective Inspector Pete Jones of the Counties Manukau CIB said after the arrest that police took such threats very seriously.

Multiple areas of the police force worked together closely on the investigation, he said.

“Counties Manukau CIB and Wellington District were able to draw on the expertise of the National Cyber Crime Centre (NC3) and the Electronic Crime Laboratory to help us locate this individual.”

He said the investigation showed police could trace individuals who made serious threats on the internet.

I am very rarely tempted to indulge in a good rant. I’m as good at inflammatory rhetoric as anybody can be, but I normally deliver my invective with ice water in my veins.

Today will be an exception.

So here goes…

In the video above, the politically-correct thought police have just warned us that the word retarded is now taboo.

I don’t care whether the “Spread The Word To End The Word” campaign has a valid point or not – I am NOT having any self-appointed Gestapo telling me what I am allowed to think and to say, and that’s that!

What’s the result of all of this “diversity” guilt-tripping? Do you think it makes people like each other all of a sudden? No, it just creates an overpowering flood of pent-up rage in people who hate to be told what to do and what to think.

But very few people have the courage to tell the thought police where to go.

Who are the socially acceptable targets?

That flood of pent-up rage at being ordered to pay lip service to “diversity” has to go somewhere. There is always a group or two that are left out of the “diversity” mix on purpose, to provide a safety valve in the form of a socially acceptable target for demonization. Since the 1990s, the main targets in the US have been Slavs, with Russians and Serbs targeted in particular, and, of course, white people who live in the South. I end up in both categories, and whether anybody likes it or not, I am fighting back.

For more than two decades, the Serbian nation and people have been subjected to an unending parade of groundless accusations and truly unspeakable blood libels. As a direct result of those deliberate lies, Serbs have been thrown off their land, imprisoned, tortured, maimed, killed, and even butchered for their organs. Do you seriously expect me to care because somebody might call you a NAME?

If you, or your friends, cheered or dropped bombs when your government made war on my people, and if you still do nothing while one president after another persecutes and abuses my people – and yes, they are my people – don’t waste your time telling me why I should care about what anybody calls YOU.

How that video helps our ENEMIES

Every form of political correctness gives ammunition to the Muslim Brotherhood and its front groups, who are doing all they can to censor, and even to criminalize, any criticism of Islam or of Muslims.

Yoo-hoo, CAIR, you will NEVER shut me up! I am far from alone, you are our ENEMIES, and you are going DOWN!

Banning the words that identify stupidity

According to the video, we are to be condemned for using the word “retarded” to describe stupid behavior. Next, they’ll be telling us that we can’t even use the word “stupid” to describe stupid behavior. By stopping us from recognizing and putting a name to stupidity when we encounter it, these thought police would render us helpless to combat it. Shame on them for destroying the English language in their Orwellian attempt to eliminate the words and concepts that describe reality.

Do these bozos seriously think they can banish human stupidity and inadequacy simply by censoring the word retarded? The word came from the phrase mental retardation, which used to be the accepted term for what is now called developmental delay – which means the same thing anyway.

As soon as people start getting angry about the new term developmentally delayed, we’ll see yet another PSA telling us not to use it, and they’ll have to coin some other euphemism. Stupidity is a fact of life, it affects everybody, and the only difference is that some of us aren’t that way all of the time. If you can’t deal with that, then it’s easy to see which category YOU fit into!

Was that video meant to stop us from saying – or even realizing – how stupid Obama is?

We, the people of the United States, have a president, Barack Hussein Obama, who simply does not have, and never will have, the mental candlepower to function normally in the real world without 24×7 care on the part of various “handlers.” He can’t even call his dog without looking at a Teleprompter. We are not supposed to come out and say that he is mentally deficient, but in his case, it applies.

Why does Ubama have such a big scar on his head? Just askin’.

Our badly-educated and media-manipulated voting public has elected a president who, for whatever reason, can’t think on his own. His handlers – all of them prominent leftists – have been with him from the beginning. They made sure that he had all of the funding and the outside help and “influence” that he needed to get through college and law school, but of course we don’t get to see his school transcripts or medical records. He has never served in the military, nor has he needed to support himself by doing any real work.

Those handlers chose Obama, not in spite of his deficiencies, but because of them. He was, and is, amenable to their control. He is too dense to comprehend that anything could be wrong with what they want him to do. He may be dimly aware that there is a difference between right and wrong, but he learned early on to prefer wrong. He makes gaffe after gaffe after gaffe, and he can just barely manage to read his Teleprompter aloud, but at least his handlers can be sure that he won’t go rogue all of a sudden.

It sure seems mighty suspicious to me that this ad is coming out just after there has been a spate of complaints, in the blogosphere and elsewhere, that this president is anything but the genius that his media shills made him out to be.

I would call Obama and his handlers what they are, but no language in the world has words bad enough to describe them.

And that’s that.

I recently received an email from Blazing Cat Fur with a link to his video exposing the activities of American jihadi Adam Gadahn. But before I got around to blogging it, YouTube took the video down. It’s now up again on MRC TV. Here’s the story:

Aside from Gadahn’s own words I referred to al Queda as being “Depraved Savages” for their evident reverence for the  Fort Hood Murderous Muslim Maniac Nidal Malik Hasan. That’s it. That’s as bad as it got. This was a straight news story on a matter of public interest otherwise. Clearly YouTube is run by cretins.

A Facebook page has been set up for this campaign. The people behind it are encouraging people to send in photos of their own like the ones above.

To borrow a line from an old leftie, “…and, friends, they’ll think it’s a movement!”

By the way, I like the emphasis on food and gasoline, since the official Consumer Price Index does not include — are you ready for this? — food and energy!

Grocery prices increased 6.5% in March from early January, an annualized increase of 26%, according to a report from Consumer Growth Partners. The group called the rise the “sharpest in a generation.”

…A 25% increase in gasoline prices this year combines with higher food costs to take $18 billion out of monthly household spending on discretionary items… Consumer Growth said in its report, which compiles data from Target, Walmart and Aldi stores in four U.S. states.

No word on whether the price of sticky notes has gone up significantly. If we all do our part, however, demand should skyrocket!

Getting Started

• Get some sticky notes, either regular or “Super Sticky,” in whatever color you like. 3″x3″ is the best size for this purpose.
• Bring something to write with that won’t run if it gets wet, such as an ordinary ballpoint pen, a Sharpie marker (the new retractable felt-tip is easier to carry), or even a pencil.
• After posting each note, use your cellphone or a pocket camera to snap a photo of it before you leave.
• If you have a Facebook account, please upload the photos to the Facebook event page as explained above.

Optional: Ordering Preprinted Sticky Notes

• You can create your image ahead of time using your own graphic program (e.g., Photoshop or GIMP) and your own fonts. For an image that will be printed on a 3″x3″ notepad, the original should be 900×900 pixels or larger. Alternatively, you can draw your art with black ink on white paper and scan the image at 300dpi or greater. Save the result in .png format.
• If you are not equipped to create your own digital image, you can often use the design software provided by the print shop or office supply retailer to create your image. They can also scan and upload your artwork from paper if you don’t have access to a scanner.
• You may want to get together with your friends and fellow political activists to share the expense of ordering sticky note pads with several different messages.
• A less expensive alternative is to order a self-inking rubber stamp with an image that will fit on a sticky note.
• Sample sticky-note images created by blog admin 1389 are shown below. Feel free to print from them, distribute them to others, and so forth, without restriction.

Write on each one, “How’s that Hope & Change working out for you?” Every time you stop to fill your vehicle with gas, place your sticky note somewhere on the pump before you drive away. I’ve frequently featured or linked to the Vlad Tepes counter-jihad website here on my blog. I go to Vlad’s site because it is always a treasure-trove of information and videos about what’s really going on inside the World of Islam – items that you will never read or watch on Good Morning, America or on CNN’s nightly news.

Tonight I made my regular trip over there and found an announcement that YouTube has shut down Vlad’s video account, purportedly over a video copyright violation issue that is over six months old and, according to Vlad, should be moot.

However, I am also informed via an e-mail that there is a move on within the cyber-space war zone to shut down several counter-jihad websites by repeatedly flagging them as offensive. The al-Shamikh forum, which Vlad tells me is a password-protected Muslim jihad site, has apparently issued a fatwa against three counter-jihad sites – one of which is Vlad Tepes.

They call themselves The Jihad Smack-Down Crew. Vlad Tepes is one of them. And they’re all on the jihad hit-list.

You can draw whatever conclusion you may wish to draw about what’s going on. Me? I’m suspicious that Google and YouTube have come under some pressure from the World of Islam and decided to knuckle under rather than risk who-knows-what…

It’s another overt submission to Islam – pervasive and perverse, and YouTube doesn’t care. For small fry like Vlad, if you’re in a public forum, there’s nothing much you can do about it.

Is there a safe public venue where people like Vlad can post their video materials without being attacked, hacked, and backed against the wall by haters of whatever stripe?

More than a week after his mysterious disappearance in Egypt, Google executive and political activist Wael Ghonim has been released from government detention on Monday, the State Department told the Wall Street Journal[...]

It remains unclear what role, if any, Ghonim played in organizing the Jan. 25 protest movement itself, the largest Egypt has seen in more than 30 years. However, he played a prominent role in online activism in the months ahead of the historic protests.

Last year, Ghonim was one of four administrators running the first of the major Facebook pages that became a virtual headquarters for the protest movement, according to a collaborator in the political opposition, and also according to an Internet activist familiar with the situation. Mr. Ghonim also set up the official campaign website for opposition leader Mohamed ElBaradei and volunteered as a tech consultant for other opposition groups, according to Ziad Al-Alimi, a senior aide to Mr. ElBaradei.

Mohamed ElBaradei has Muslim Brotherhoods support.

Obama stated in his interview with O’Reilly ‘some factions strains of the MB ideology are against the US:

“The Muslim Brotherhood is one faction in Egypt. They don’t have majority support in Egypt, but they are well organized and there are “strains of their ideology that are against the U.S., there’s no doubt about it,”

MB is against the US, democracy and all things Western. They want the Islamic Caliphate to rule the world and make no bones about it on their website.

“Allah is our objective; the Quran is our constitution, the Prophet is our leader; Jihad is our way; and death for the sake of Allah is the highest of our aspirations.”
