The blogger “Jewish Odysseus” recently wrote a well-reasoned defense of refraining from the “Open Letter”, on the grounds (to summarize somewhat simplistically) that bringing this out into the open is divisive, and therefore deleterious, for the Anti-Islam Movement.

I disagreed with him, and articulated it thusly:

“If you intend to be including in your argument an appeal for all potentially disagreeing individuals within the anti-Islam movement to refrain from disagreement as a general principle, on the basis that any kind of disagreement can undermine solidarity, I must respectfully and strenuously… disagree.

“Most people who eschew disagreement as a general principle (rather than on a case-by-case basis) I find have a simplistic monolithic view of disagreement. They seem to think it must always be bad, and cannot ever be good or constructive (at least, they consistently seem to recoil from it in aversion every time it comes up in a substantial way).

“I think, however, that there are two kinds of disagreement: healthy and unhealthy. There’s no need to run to the hills or shrink timidly back into a hole of a show of anxiously maintained unanimity any time disagreement, or circumstances that portend it, pop up.

“If disagreement is pursued in a healthy manner, there’s no need to squelch it or sweep it under the rug, for fear that it might morph into some dangerously divisive force. Since disagreement is inevitable (as Dymphna of Gates of Vienna has rightly said more than once), and if there is a form of doing it that is healthy and mature, then we have no choice, sometimes (not necessarily any and every time), but to “let it all hang out” — and in doing so, try to do that in a healthy and mature way.

“This particular case (the Pam Geller-EDL Affair) I believe warrants the expression of disagreement out in the open sunshine and breezy air of open discussion.

“The introduction to, and the content of, the Open Letter (as well as Lawrence Auster’s analysis included in this ancillary post (also useful) which Baron Bodissey at Gates of Vienna put up more recently), altogether present the case for it well enough, and I have nothing to add.”

And I added, finally:

“If Westerners are that frail, that they cannot sustain healthy, yet vigorous, disagreement when it’s called for, then I’m not sure they’ll be up for the broader more daunting task of fighting Islam in the decades ahead.”

Afterword:

Just because individuals on one side of a dispute demonstrate an inability to be rational (let alone fair and mature) as the disagreement unfolds, does not ipso facto support the suppression of any and all disagreements. Sometimes — as with the Pam Geller-EDL Affair — it is salutary for a movement to have such unfairness and irrationality exposed. Do we really want people in quasi-leadership positions (as Pam Geller and Robert Spencer undeniably are, even if to a degree perhaps less substantial than, say, Geert Wilders or… Tommy Robinson) to possess potentially damaging, or self-destructive, flaws?

If not for the principle of this issue (= “Don’t accuse a valiant anti-Islam group of serious charges before you have and show evidence”), then at least for the flaws it reveals in people in whom we would put our trust to guide and manage various aspects of the anti-Islam cause in which we all — superstar bloggers, “independent” bloggers, peon bloggers, non-bloggers whose lives are too full (of the joys and mundane frustrations of life) to blog — all have a stake.

Curious about the drama that is constantly going on over at the infamous leftist/jihadist turncoat blog Little Green Footballs, but reluctant to expose your computer to malware or other attacks?

True, you can always go to the trouble of setting up a proxy to safely view that wretched hive of scum and villainy. But an easier and quicker way to amuse yourself at the expense of the current denizens of LGF is to visit Diary of Daedalus, which is an offshoot of 2.0: The Blogmocracy.

WHY paranoids have real enemies

The short answer is: because they make their own enemies. Yes, Charles Johnson labels Diary of Daedalus (a/k/a DoD) as a “stalker blog.” But if this label fits in any sense, it’s just another example of “what goes around, comes around.” CJ has been infamous for tracking LGF commenters to other blogs and banning them if they are seen posting on any site that CJ no longer approves of, or supporting anybody he has turned against. CJ also has been known to “out” those who have donated anonymously to his blog in the past by tracking their identities through PayPal.

Besides, if CJ and his mindless minions stopped reacting with such exaggerated fury to any real or perceived slight against the hive-mind at LGF, nobody would bother making fun of them any more. By their sheer moonbattery, they provide the rest of us with low-cost entertainment.

Yes, 1389 has been banned again…

I’m not ashamed to say that I’ve been banned from a lot of websites. I’ve been banned from Digg at least three times (for supporting Serbs and opposing jihadis), from Little Green Footballs once (again for supporting Serbs), from BoingBoing (after a single comment criticizing an article written by a left-wing admin), and even from StumbleUpon (my account was hacked and their admins never got around to reinstating me, so I eventually gave up).

Gotta collect ‘em all…

The latest forum that I’ve been banned from is Grouchy Conservative Pundits, a/k/a GCP, formerly Gulf Coast Pundits. No, I am not posting a clickable link here; you can find the link easily enough if you want. The reason I’m blogging about it here is to air my suspicions about what is going on both in public and behind the scenes on some websites and forums, and in some organizations, that portray themselves as conservative, but are not.

Yes, I’ll miss a few people on that board, and those few who miss me should not have any trouble finding me. Most people on the board are happy to see me gone, and have said so, though not in a public thread.

What trash talkers reveal about themselves

I make a point of being plain-spoken, but there is a huge difference between forthrightness and talking trash. Swears and vulgar epithets are not allowed in comments or articles on 1389 Blog, because they encourage bullying and flame wars, lower the tone of discourse, and can rapidly get out of control.

GCP has no such restrictions, but even so, I was amazed at the style of verbiage that GCP admin “Mike C.” used with me. He sounded so much like Charles Johnson (alias CJ) of the turncoat website Little Green Footballs that it wasn’t even funny. I have never been addressed in such a bitchy, snarky, condescending way by any heterosexual male in my entire life. Of course, “Mike C.” is just a screen name, and I have no knowledge of who “Mike C.” actually is and no information about his personal life, and am not interested in anything he may claim to have done that supposedly proves he’s a man. It all comes down to the fact that any male who would directly address a female in such a disgusting, contemptuous way, especially without any real provocation, is not a man.

“Mike C.” enforces a double standard when it comes to another blog admin whose screen name is “Rayra”. (Despite the feminine-sounding name, “Rayra” is, or claims to be, a male with a military background. Yes, I know, on the Internet, you never know who anybody actually is…) Be that as it may, “Rayra” is free to say whatever he wants on the GCP forum, as often as he wants and in as offensive a way as he pleases. On the other hand, women on the site had better confine themselves to echoing the opinions of the male admins, much as CJ’s female minions do with him. It is beneath my dignity to participate in that type of thing.

Neocons are not conservatives

Too many people on GCP seem to be “neocons” as opposed to conservatives, so much so that if truth in labeling applied to blogs and forums, that one should be called Grouchy Neocon Pundits. I have many reasons to avoid the neocons, but my biggest reason is that they can’t seem to figure out that America’s real foreign enemies are the jihadis, not the former Soviet Union, which is dead and gone.

As a person of Slavic descent, the reflexive hatred and suspicion directed toward Russia and other Slavic countries and peoples, particularly Orthodox Slavs, was starting to get old. Slav-bashing is based on a type of racism and bigotry, not on any real evidence. I hasten to say that I don’t approve of every decision that the present-day Russian government has made, but that isn’t the point. On the GCP forum, I did try to point out that Russia is not the Soviet Union, it is not interested in taking over Europe, and if we had not made such a mess of things ever since the Clinton Administration, Russia could potentially be a strong ally against both socialism and jihadism. At least they know what socialism is all about, and they reject it. But whenever I said anything about that, people on GCP would pile in on me like a ton of bricks.

“Conservatives” at the public trough

The major issue that led to my being banned from GCP had to do with my defending the idea that states have the right to secede (and should prepare to do so, as a way to stop the encroachment of socialism) and that Americans have the right to move to other parts of the world and even to become citizens there, if they so desire and if the other country admits them. I said then, and I still say, that declining to participate any further in supporting a tyrannical government, by means of secession or expatriation, can be a valid and principled stand against tyranny.

At that point, “Rayra” and “Mike C.” completely lost it, big time, and condemned me in every possible way.

No, I’m not going to risk copyright issues by directly quoting any of their nonsense here. Their screen names don’t actually identify them, so they have no cause for complaint about my “outing” them in any way, and I do not plan to visit, or link to, any other forum where they exert significant control.

• Anybody who goes ballistic over someone entertaining the idea of expatriating (or secession) to avoid ruinous taxation, is no conservative.
• Anybody who, without any evidence, levels a blanket accusation of “tax chicanery” against American expatriates who simply open an overseas bank account, is no conservative.

Evidently, “Rayra”, “Mike C.”, and their supporters seem awfully worried about keeping those federal tax dollars flowing so that they will keep getting their government checks of one sort or another. The very idea that I and others might vote with our feet, take up foreign citizenship, have a decent and peaceful life somewhere else, and stop funding their retirement, is anathema to them.

The very fact that “Rayra” and “Mike C.” went berserk over the very thought of Americans refusing to condemn themselves to a lifetime of poverty and ruin, followed by administrative euthanasia under “Obamacare” in their old age, simply to stave off the fiscal collapse of the federal government, shows where their loyalties really lie. It isn’t to the beleaguered American people, it’s to the federal government, and their quarrel with that government is that they aren’t currently the ones reaping most of the stolen loot.

And if people like “Mike C.” and “Rayra” were running the government instead of the Obaminators, would we be any better off? I doubt it.

Why it’s right to vote with our feet

It only got worse after I pointed out that people who fled the Third Reich after 1933, or the Soviet Union in 1917, had done the right thing. By going somewhere else with their labor and their livelihood, they prevented their efforts and earnings from being used to establish and run a tyrannical socialist regime. Those who voluntarily stayed were later accused of collaborating with the evils that followed.

All of was too much for “Rayra.” He posted a viciously-worded reply, in which he heaped scorn on all those who left the Third Reich, the Soviet Union, and other regimes, blaming them for not having stayed there and killed the dictators. He immediately went on to say that the Obama regime is getting ready to murder millions in the same way. In other words, “Rayra” implied that it is my moral obligation to stay in the US so as to kill off Obama and company.

“Rayra” does not read this blog, or he would know that I’ve already explained why nobody should do anything of the sort. (See “Going Postal” Empowers Evil Tyrants.)

This is not to say that jihadis, socialists, and totalitarians of any stripe, anywhere in the world, deserve anything other than the harshest of all possible fates. But it is not up to me to make that happen! It would be both pointless and counterproductive for individual Americans to put their lives on the line to go out with weapons and kill off the jihadis, the socialists, and the corrupt government officials who are selling us out to them. Okay, maybe I’ve gotten to be too peaceable in my old age, but there is some valid reasoning behind my stance on this matter. The long and the short of it is that any attempt to kill off these evildoers simply gives the current regime more opportunities to smear and demonize dissidents, and to enforce even more repressive measures.

Another reason why beheading the regime won’t work is that the main problem isn’t with Obama and a few people at the top, it’s with the entire American society being foolish enough to let Obama get into power. (See Words of Wisdom from the Czech Republic.)

As far as I know, nobody’s suggesting killing off everybody who was foolish enough to vote for Obama! The figurehead is always expendable, and there’s always another to take his place. Of course, one can only hope that our society will eventually come to its senses and use legal means to impeach and remove all public officials who support America’s enemies and who fail to uphold the Constitution, and then try and punish the perpetrators, along with their financiers and backers, for corruption, treason, et cetera after removing them from office. But such legal housecleaning, however justifiable and appropriate, is not a solution to the folly of the American electorate, simply because it could not possibly succeed until such time as Americans have already awakened from the folly that allowed Obama to get into power in the first place.

Expect to find a plant in every conservative organization

It wouldn’t surprise me if “Rayra” weren’t some sort of agent provocateur who wants to flush people who harbor anti-government thoughts out of the woodwork. While I don’t have any direct evidence that “Rayra” is a plant, suffice it to say that if I were to encounter him in person, I’d bring a watering can!

Put it this way, if “Rayra” can get people to admit that they also think that killing off the socialist Obama administration would be the right thing to do, then somebody from the goverment can arrest those people, and also use it as an excuse for all sorts of repressive measures against “domestic terrorism.” If you think that’s a stretch, look what happened with the Hutaree people. I find it absolutely despicable for “Rayra” and others to sit back, eat popcorn, and collect their government checks, while goading other people into taking actions that will ruin their lives and will only worsen government tyranny. If “Rayra” actually felt a moral obligation to put his own life on the line by killing Obama, I still would consider it misguided, but it is NOT his business to heap scorn on others such as myself for being unwilling to do the same. But I think that “Rayra” is just a bully and a coward who doesn’t mind getting other people into trouble as long as it doesn’t cause him any inconvenience.

So I decided to call his bluff once and for all. I told “Rayra” that, unless I saw “Rayra” himself, and NOT someone else, on the news as having assassinated Obama, that I would never take seriously anything “Rayra” says. My purpose was either to make “Rayra” reveal what he is up to, or, preferably, to get him to take back his remarks.

Instead, “Mike C.” deleted my comment in a fit of intemperate rage, probably before “Rayra” even got a chance to read it, and shortly after that I was banned.

People can draw whatever conclusions they want from that, but my advice is to watch out for people in any conservative venue who behave like this, and never to trust any of them.

I’m being pressed, pestered and bothered; a long few weeks of dealing with the results of censors and attempts to destroy the traffic flow to the Anvil. And still I am winning.

However, I am definitely being distracted by this useless waste of my energies.

It doesn’t look like such attempts are going to end anytime soon either. Today I noticed that my most harmless web presence of all, my music profile on MySpace, has been mysteriously deleted without warning. I just sent an inquiry to MySpace.

This obviously brings up the old Roman paranoia that resides in my blood….(more)

I got off the phone with SonicWall. They apparently think that “anti-war liberal scum” (this is in reference to what the anti-war creeps did to the wall) is hate.

Of course, http://www.dailykos.com/ is considered Web Communications. Can we say hypocrites??

I urge all of you to call them. The number is 1-888-557-6642. When the menu asks you to punch a number if you know the extension, hit the number they provide, then hit zero a few times.

The key word is “defamation,” as it is clear there are no rules as to who they block.

That was our answer! While we don’t know what methods SonicWALL is using to decide whether to blacklist a site, we do know one thing:

SonicWALL is not visiting the sites to check what’s actually there!

What a “professional” way to run a company!

What’s the real reason why Lady Predator’s sites are blacklisted?

We’ve blogged about this before (see Does SonicWALL actually look at the blogs they blacklist?)- but to make a long story short…

It’s all about “Reverend” Jim Sutter’s personal vendetta.

“Reverend” Jim Sutter is a self-ordained minister who has declared a one-man jihad against every source of antijihadist news and commentary that he can find, including Christian talk radio.

Lady Predator writes for a blog, Exposing ‘Rev.’ Sutter, that charges Sutter with using false complaints to censorware providers as a means of shutting down antijihadist blogs.

Sutter is doing the very same thing to Lady Predator and others, in an attempt to shut down every blogger who dares to reveal Sutter’s blog censorship activities! In other words, as we explained earlier, Sutter has manipulated censorware firms to get them to blacklist not only Exposing ‘Rev.’ Sutter, but also Lady Predator’s other domain names, including ladypredator.com and www.ladypredator.com.

How SonicWALL helps the enemies of America and the free world

Up to now, SonicWALL and other censorware vendors have been free to impose de facto worldwide censorship on the Internet, with scarcely anyone realizing what’s going on. (To learn more about how censorware works, see our earlier article, Tell Panera Bread and SonicWALL to Stop Censoring Foehammer’s Anvil!)

SonicWALL and other censorware firms are allowing political speech to be muzzled by malicious individuals and groups operating from anywhere in the world. Evidently, just about anybody can “game the system” by making a false complaint about any site they don’t like, and get the site blacklisted!

In effect, these censorware vendors are providing a “back door” that allows our enemies to interfere with our communications in order to keep everyone in the dark about jihadist activities.

1389 Blog has been getting some strange visitors lately…

This chart shows the search phrases that people entered yesterday to get to 1389 Blog.

Here’s what happened: Someone entered the phrase “how to make remote pipe bombs” into Google or another search utility. 1389 Blog was included in the list of sites that came up, simply because we ran a news story about the Goose Creek “pipe bomb boys”. The person clicked on the link to get to 1389 Blog.

For the record, there are NO instructions on this blog for making remote pipe bombs or any other WMDs. I wonder whether this particular visitor became frustrated and decided to get back at us by falsely reporting 1389 Blog as a “hate site.”

In case you’re wondering, there is no hate speech on this blog. No trash talk. No incitement to violence. No mention of anything pertaining to racial issues. No ad hominem attacks. No bloody pictures. Comments are moderated, and we don’t even allow swear words. So if you’re looking for an excuse to ban this blog, you will find it only in your imagination.

So how can you find out who is visiting YOUR blog?

By running blog statistics and checking them regularly.

Where do I get blog statistics?

You’ll need to download a plugin, sign up for a web-based utility, or have your hosting provider set up a statistics utility if you want to gather statistics. Just for starters, try these. Follow the instructions at the websites:

• If you have a WordPress blog, whether it’s at WordPress.com or independently hosted, you can use the WordPress.com blog stats plugin.
• Anyone with a blog can sign up for Google Analytics.
• The free version of StatCounter lets you pinpoint the actual IP address for the most recent 500 page views. If this isn’t enough, you can upgrade to a larger log file size for a monthly fee.

How blog statistics can help you to improve your blog

There are other good reasons to run blog statistics.

For one thing, the only way you can build your audience is by trying different things on your blog, and then checking your statistics to see how readers react. You can see how many people are visiting, where they are coming from, which search phrases they used to get to your blog, which blog articles they are viewing, how long they are staying, what they are clicking, and so forth. If you don’t collect statistics, you’re just groping in the dark.

Stop Blog Censorship!

We are receiving e-mails right and left (no, actually, they’re all from the “right,” but anyway…) advising that one anti-jihad site after another has been misclassified by various censorware companies, with the end result being that the readers of those blogs are unable to access the blogs from various schools, places of employment, and wi-fi hotspots.

The problem is complicated by the fact that once we manage to get the sites classified correctly, someone comes along and requests the companies to change the classifications back to something like “violence/hate/racism,” and we have to start over.

WE NEED HELP – YOUR FELLOW BLOGGERS NEED YOUR HELP.

Most of these site have a page you can visit to test a url (web address) to see if it’s been blocked. 1389′s been collecting those, and they are listed below. We have also listed below a list of url’s that have been having recurring problems. (If we’ve missed anyone, please let us know in the comments.)

This is easy, but very important: Simply go to the various test pages, enter the url for your favorite blog, and follow the directions to have it reclassified as something like “media,” or “political advocacy,” as appro.

Why were these sites blacklisted in the first place?

If you can access Exposing ‘Rev.’ Sutter on your computer, go and take a look at it! “Reverend” Jim Sutter is a self-ordained minister who has declared a one-man jihad against every source of antijihadist news and commentary that he can find, including Christian talk radio.

Among other things, Exposing ‘Rev.’ Sutter charges Sutter with using false complaints to censorware providers as a means of shutting down antijihadist blogs.

As we explained earlier, Sutter is doing the very same thing in an attempt to shut down every blogger who dares to reveal Sutter’s blog censorship activities!

Why are the other two sites blacklisted also?

Lady Predator is an antijihadist news blog, and www.ladypredator.com is a mirror site and message board. Given the blog owner’s association with Exposing ‘Rev.’ Sutter, it didn’t take long for Sutter’s cyberstalkers to find them too.
