Subject: Jennifer Lopez cancels her performance

Dear HEC members and Friends,

Following CANA’s initiative, the whole Hellenism (CANA -AHEPA- PANMACEDONIAN-HEC and other Hellenic organizations) stood united in from of the illegal performance of
Jennifer Lopez. Thousands of letters reached Ms. Lopez and the outcome was to cancel her performance.

It was an example what UNITY can do for Hellenism.

Thanks to everyone who helped this campaign.

Jennifer Lopez Out of Controversial N. Cyprus Concert

50 minutes ago by TMZ Staff

Jennifer Lopez has officially “withdrawn” from a concert in a European territory currently under military occupation — claiming she never would have agreed to perform had she known the “relevant circumstances” surrounding the intense political situation.

Lopez was scheduled to perform in Turkish-occupied Northern Cyprus … an area that neither the United Nations nor the European Union recognize as an independent sovereign state … because of the way it was illegally occupied by the Turkish military in 1974.

In fact, multiple Greek and Cypriot politicians expressed anger after reports surfaced claiming Lopez had agreed to perform at a swanky hotel in Northern Cyprus on July 24.

But a rep for Lopez tells TMZ, “Jennifer Lopez would never knowingly support any state, country, institution or regime that was associated with any form of human rights abuse.”

The rep added, “After a full review of the relevant circumstances in Cyprus, it was the decision of management to withdraw from the appearance. This was a team decision that reflects our sensitivity to the political realities of the region.”

Tune in to TMZ on TV weekdays Monday through Friday (check http://www.tmz.com/tmztv/ for syndicated/local listings)

CONGRATULATIONS – A VICTORY AGAINST INHUMANITY !!!

Jennifer Lopez Out of Controversial N. Cyprus Concert

Convener: Eleftheriades, George Savva, OAM, GCSCG, CETr, JP

In conjunction with:

– AHEN: Australian Hellenes & Europe Nexus

Thanks to:
- our Good Lord of all Charity and of Justice
- Mrs Jennifer Lopez and her Agents, Cara Lewis, William Morris Agency, LLC. cpl@wmeentertainment.com , for giving our justice cause such worldwide impetus
- our front fellows, Mr Nicholas Taneris and the whole CANA movement
- all our Professors, Journalists, and Leaders, for maintaining this campaign
- to HEC’Gr, AHEPA, all organisations, groups, and numerous thousands individuals, who contributed electronically to this mementous campaign

NEW YORK- The Cyprus Action Network of America (CANA) Press Officer Nikolaos Taneris after direct consultation with American celebrity news sourcce TMZ.com managed to finally get a statement from a rep of Jennifer Lopez, she repeats the concerns raised by our grass-roots campaign on human rights, the statement says ” “Jennifer Lopez would never knowingly support any state, country, institution or regime that was associated with any form of human rights abuse.” TMZ also reveals she was misguided by Turkey and its allies it says she ‘withdraws’ “claiming she never would have agreed to perform had she known the “relevant circumstances”

There is a very significant outcome from this campaign. Turkey’s recalcitrance had momentously huge expose worldwide. The whole world took notice of our complaints and got to know the sordid character of Turkish barbarism (invaluable information for the future). Turkey shall never override its true image to pretend being civilised/angelic member of the European family

Please maintain this electronic pressure and may we save our Cyprus, Makedonia, Thrace, and Hellas, from the clutches of our enemies. Thank you our dear electronic fellow-campaigners. Lord bless you all

Jennifer Lopez is a great singer, dancer and actress. She is perfect and I don’t care what other people say about her being one of the judges in American idol. It’s fantastic. Congrats Jen you are super gorgeous and beautiful

It will be great to see Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to be together in a film again. I read on one of the news that it is the film The Tiger but looks like Angelina might be able to do by spring next year. I am excited.

What victory? Cyprus is still divided and will remain divided unless they all learn to work together. Jennifer Lopez just didn’t want the negative publicity & was only looking after her own reputation of the publicity that would have occurred had she not withdrawn from the concert in Northern Cyprus. It didn’t change anything for the people of Cyprus who forever remain divided.
