The Chetniks were collaborators and everybody knows it. They played both sides.

Blog admin 1389 replies: No, that was a lie spread by Stalin's moles and mistakenly believed by British and American intelligence. There was no truth to it whatsoever. That lie is what caused the Allies to throw their support to Tito. Churchill regretted that decision more than any other decision he had made during the war.

I was going through this blog, and i saw "Balkan for dummies", which apareantly was writen by a dummy (no isult intended to the writer), or a person who thinks he/she knows all.

The writer of this mediocre article keeps trying to cheat the readers, calling the wars in former Yugoslavia as of religion background, which of course is not true.

The wars in yugoslavia happened because the yugoslavian government (serb government) tried to dissapear all other nationalities, which of course led to selfdefense by all countries, including Kosova Albanians; who for many years had made a peaceful resistance against the millosevic regime. By hte way KLA was organized by local people trying to stop the serbian police from killing them, raping their sisters, wifes, mothers and their daughters. How about a million of albanians made to leave their homes.
The author is right when he says that msot of albanians are muslims, but you should know that there were many christian albanians who were members of KLA and gave their life for their country. You should know that some of the people that my albanian friends are most proud of are Christian; I ma sure you know of Mother Theresa (Albanian), Scanderbeg (Albanian), and many many others. You say that Alqaida and Bin laden was not known that time, well, you cannot be any more wrong than this. Of course he was known as a terrorist all over.

The writer also has doubts over the Illyrian origin of Albanians, even calling them a non civilised people. Well my friend take the books and read something, OK? It is better not to humiliate yourself this way. This article is a humiliation to the writer himself.

In the end, let me say that, your article has nothing scientifical. It si simply not based in the scientifically accpeted facts. You achieve your conclusions from very doubtful and sporadic facts with no connections at all. I mean no offense to you!

Admin 1389 replies:First of all, the Serbs never made "one million Albanians" leave their homes. As soon as the ill-advised and criminal NATO bombing campaign started, the KLA began rounding everyone up and forcing them to leave, so as to deliberately create the appearance of a humanitarian disaster that they could blame on the Serbs. Those who looked closely at the crowds could see that the same people were crossing the border over and over again, to make the problem look worse than it was.

Second, the Illyrians of the ancient world were indeed considered to be "uncivilized" at that time. They did not have a written language or any of the other accoutrements of what the ancients considered to be civilized living. No, we aren't calling them evil or dangerous people; on the other hand, they left no records of any type, and nobody has enough information to say much of anything about them at all. If you consider this to be an insult, I would suggest that this is NOTHING compared to the way that Serbs have been insulted in the past several decades.

Finally, with regard to your unfounded accusations against the Serbian police and army, please read this article that shows how easy it is for the wrong people to be blamed: Masks! That particular website has a great many articles exposing the endless media fakery that has caused people such as yourself to blame the Serbs for actions that the Serbs had nothing to do with. If you are interested in science, there is plenty of material about forensic investigations on the Emperor's Clothes website. I suggest you read the entire site (which will take you a long time) and follow up by researching it all on your own.

I just want to thank you for the information that you have provided in your article. Finally someone to tell the real story. It is really painful to hear the news about serbian monsters who eat children on the western tv stations. Thank you in the name of my people :)

im sorry dear author, at first i thought your article was nicely written.
but calling yugoslavia an artficial country and labelling tito as worse to castro is simply wrong. im shocked, as to at which extent you write lies on here and not mentioning all the brutal things during the war, who the aggresors were etc. etc.
this article is another example of people who have nothing to do with yugoslavia judge from the outside. im sorry to say this, but if you do not have relatives in the former yugoslavia or not even having lived there, you simply CANNOT understand what really happened. the whole komplex is way too big and difficult to understand, given the fact that detailed sources don't exist in english, spanish , german etc. etc.
im sad and angry about this

Thank you so much for investing your time in this blog. Ever since the whole Bosnia issue during Clinton's term, I've always been totally confused as to what went on. And our part in it (USA) didn't make sense to me. Lately with all the strange things going on in my country, I decided I had to know what Clinton did. With every online article I read trying to decipher the conflict, I would just get more confused. I've yet to finish reading your articles, but I just wanted to say thanks for finally explaining in a way that even I can understand.

Rastaman,

Actually, you're already blogrolled here. But if you have comments or questions about the matters discussed in the article, we would ordinarily make that into a separate blog post, linking back to you if you wish.

We want to make sure that this article is clear to everyone and that we have not neglected anything important.

I have sat down to write something like this for my blog many times, but gave up at the complexity of trying to give every side its due. However, you have succeeded at doing this brilliantly, Czech Rebel! This is great! Can't wait for Part II!

Thanks for the expanation, CzechRebel.

I flew over that mess with the Navy in '92 & '94. The rules of engagement we had to work with were mind boggling. And we mostly prayed we didn't get shot down 'cause we had no idea what was really going on down on the ground.

Now that there's some distance it's good to know what it was all about.

Great article, Czechrebel! Very informative.

Might I also recommend to 1389 reader the site called "The History of Jihad". On the left, scroll to the link "The Jihad against Serbs, Croats and Albanians".

I would like to thank you for this article. I am usually pretty aware of politics, but when the war in the former Yugoslavia broke out I was totally confused and couldn't make any sense out of the tv news reports.

Glad to say I am learning slowly, thanks to this site and the contributors.
